Establishing the John Scott Nature Reserve has taught us how important outdoor learning is to children – whether that’s creating the eco-warriors of the future, learning new skills and appreciation for nature that will help them throughout life or simply helping them get more exercise and fresh air in their day.
We donated £5000 to help Highgate Primary School develop their allotments and forest school area for all the children to benefit from.
William Dean and Becca Lewis, Co-Head Teachers, said: “We are delighted to announce that car and courier service GLH has generously agreed to support the school’s commitment to gardening and outdoor learning. By providing funding for tools, plants, forest school and the general maintenance of our beautiful grounds, all children will benefit from GLH’s help.”
Our MD, Robert Scott, said, “All schools are suffering from cuts. Highgate Primary School has a very special ethos and excels in helping children with autism, ADHD, down’s syndrome and deafness. It is vitally important for this to continue successfully and that specialised activities stay and thrive. GLH is over the moon to be able to help with gardening and outdoor learning. Interaction with the outdoor world in the manner HPS provides is so enjoyable, therapeutic and interesting for the participating children and I am so happy we can help with such a great project.”
To further fundraise, Highgate Primary School has launched Goodstock. Highgate Primary School released a cover version of With a Little Help from my Friends by the Beatles. is introduced by Liam Gallagher, recorded at the famous Church Studios and you can listen to it here. We guarantee it will brighten your day!
