Our drivers and couriers go beyond. We are meticulous about our journey planning; we navigate around any delays and can advise how long a journey will take. Whether you book a passenger car or use our courier service, we know you are relying on us. That’s why we do absolutely everything with absolute care.
Keeping you safe while on the move
We would like to reassure you that the wellbeing of our customers, employees, riders and drivers is our top priority and we have taken the following approach to avoid the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) within our operations.
We are closely monitoring and adhering to UK Government guidance
The risk level is high but we continue to operate as normal whilst implementing best practice across our operations.
We appreciate that you may still need to travel, and we are ready to help you arrive at your destination, reliably and safely as we have been doing for the past 53 years.
Sharing Advice to Remain Healthy
We are continuing to emphasise to our employees, riders and drivers the importance of adopting thorough respiratory and hand hygiene practices and providing the necessary resources such as washing facilities, hand sanitisers and tissues at our facilities.
We are advising employees, riders and drivers of the symptoms of the virus and the requirement to contact NHS 111 and stay at home if they develop symptoms associated with coronavirus or have been in close contact with someone with coronavirus.
Anyone with a continuous cough or a high temperature are being told to self-isolate for 7 days in line with government guidelines.
Same-day Courier Deliveries
- Our drivers and riders have been trained on how to provide a contactless delivery
- Goods are no longer to be signed for and a name will be taken verbally or a photograph taken where nobody is available
- Our riders and drivers have been provided with PPE such as gloves, face coverings and hand sanitisers and additional stock is readily available to them
Overnight UK Deliveries
Our overnight network is still running as close to normal service as possible. We will endeavour to meet all deadlines for timed deliveries, however, due to the lockdown we are seeing an unprecedented number of parcels going through the depots nationally which are resulting in a small number of deliveries running late. Please bear with us as we navigate through this difficult period.
We are running a normal international service with only a few destinations taking longer than usual to deliver. Please be aware that since the lockdown period begun, our international carriers have all charged a COVID-19 surcharge of roughly £5.00 per shipment. This is due to limited amount of flights available for freight.
Passenger Car Services:
- Partition screens are currently being fitted throughout the fleet for your added safety
- It is now mandatory for drivers to wear face coverings and we politely request that our passengers do the same where social distancing is not possible
- It has been recommended that windows are left slightly open to improve air flow where possible
- Our drivers have been instructed to clean any hard surfaces such as door handles, seatbelts and seats between each passenger(s). We would also recommend that you wash your hands for 20 seconds before and after leaving the vehicle where possible or use a personal hand sanitiser if unable to do so
Helping affected staff and drivers
We have a team available 24/7 to support our teams in the event anyone needs to self-isolate and will be helping them financially wherever we can.
We have robust internal business continuity contingency plans in place which we are putting into practice and are separating our essential and non-essential teams in order to control the spread of the virus and ensure that we remain fully operations 24/7.
