Team GLH have only gone and done it again! We’re delighted – and a little bit surprised – to announce that we have made it to the finalist list for THREE prestigious SME London Awards!
We’re not surprised that our teams’ hard work and absolute care were good enough to make the final – but we were surprised given that this time we weren’t just competing within our industry, we were competing with all the SMEs in London!
The SME London Awards are the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s official recognition of businesses with 250 or less employees who are going above and beyond and setting the standard for others. To finally win an SME Award in this, our 57th year of trading, would truly be a testament to all our hard work and all that we have overcome to get here.
This is the first time we’ve entered these awards so it’s a big deal for us. But seeing the absolute care we show recognised at the end of last year – in the form of a National Courier Award, a Woman of the Year nomination for our director Zoe Walsh, three national QSi awards and a special QSi Award for being the only operator in the UK to win every year for a decade – inspired us to try the SME London Awards this year.
The categories we are finalists for are
- Positive Impact – For our work with NHS Trusts, the Rosie May Foundation, Think Pink alliance and our commitment to sustainability
- Sustainability – For being pioneers in our industry when it comes to reducing emissions and cleaning-up London’s air, for operating London’s greenest courier fleet and for seeing a decrease in carbon emissions despite an increase in journeys
- Corporate Social Responsibility – For our commitment to our communities back in 1967 when we began all the way through to today!
And that’s not all! We are the only car and courier operator to make it to the finalist lists in any category. So, at the awards ceremony, we will be representing our industry as a whole and hoping to do it proud. And, as we’ve partnered with Gett Taxi London, we’ll also be representing the black cab drivers too!
The awards ceremony will take place on 8th February at the Park Plaza so watch this space and keep everything crossed for us!
