The theme of International Women’s Day couldn’t be more fitting for our courier and car service london: it is Accelerating Action. And it falls just as we are gearing up to welcome the latest Think Pink recruits to our teams.

Think Pink is a national charity which empowers women into careers as professional female drivers in our historically male-dominated industry. Professional driving is a rewarding and flexible career that is perfect for many women as it enables them to be their own boss and set their own hours, yet many do not consider it as it is not a role traditionally associated with women. In recent years we’ve partnered with Think Pink to access exclusive discounts, perks and training to empower women to have careers as professional drivers and Think Pink has also established a supportive network of female drivers nationwide. This year we look forward to welcoming Think Pink drivers into our own car service london.

As well as working with Think Pink, GLH is proud to buck the gender trends in our industry with a workforce that is 44% female and leadership that is 36% female across our courier and car service london.

In addition to working towards being a gender equal team, GLH also celebrates the achievements of women in our industry. Our Sales and Customer Relations Director, Zoë Walsh, was presented with Customer/Passenger Leader trophy at the Everywoman Transport and Logistics Awards for 20+ years of innovating, promoting GLH’s reputation for absolute care and shaping the organisation. This presented an opportunity to champion all the incredible women in our industry. Zoë also led the Women in the Workplace panel at the London Private Hire Car Association AGM, discussing the achievements and barriers for women in our sector.
