During December 2017, Team GLH held a Christmas Jumper Day and managed to raise £160 for local charity Homeless Action in Barnet.
Colleagues across both our Head Office and City Office donned fetching festive gear and made donations which were matched by GLH itself. The total was donated to Homeless Action in Barnet (HAB), which is a charity supported by approximately 40 volunteers that help hundreds of homeless or vulnerably housed people in Barnet.
Sales and Customer Relations Director, Zoë Walsh, said, “Although homelessness is a year-round problem, Christmas is a time when we all tend to think of people facing homelessness or an insecure future. We had a lot of fun doing the jumper day and it’s a pleasure to be able to support a charity that makes such an impact to the lives of local people. We hope that by doing this we will also help to raise awareness of the range of services HAB provide and how vital they are – not just at Christmas but all year round. We hope other local businesses will also support them in any way they can.”
The £160 raised will help HAB to help people
- Access accommodation, support and benefits they may be entitled to
- Access education and training and secure employment
- Access healthy meals, warm clothing, showers and medical services and supplies
- Take part in creative activities designed to boost practical skills such as cooking or budget management or to increase confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing
