Our Director, Zoë Walsh, couldn’t have been prouder not just to represent GLH at the Everywoman Transport and Logistics Awards event yesterday, but to represent all women in our industry.
Zoë was presented with the Customer/Passenger Leader award after being nominated by a colleague for her tireless innovation, campaigning and collaborating. This award represents our reputation and commitment to absolute care in everything we do – from courier services london to car service london and airport transfers. She was required to send judges a short video and participated in a panel interview, along with all the other incredible women in attendance.
As well as talking about her passion for raising standards in our industry, she also spoke about her work with charity Think Pink, providing practical, financial and moral support to women beginning careers as professional drivers.
Zoë said, “Women have been historically under-represented in the transportation sector but this is slowly changing and it was a joy to see so many women celebrated for their contributions to our industry.
“Hearing all the stories of women who, like me, had worked their way up from entry-level to managerial-level and beyond because of their entrepreneurialism, innovation, ideas and commitment to making a difference was truly inspiring.
“I really hope that women beginning their careers hear those stories too and know that they can make a difference whatever stage they are at. I’ve come away from the event with even more enthusiasm for my sector and a whole tribe of inspiring new contacts.”
The Everywoman awards follow a recent run of awards for GLH’s superior customer service, including a National Courier Award, three Professional Driver Awards, a special decade of achievement award and a London Chamber of Commerce award.
