GLH Director nominated for six national awards

We’ve beaten our record with the number of award nominations at one event – and it’s so timely as Zoë celebrates 20 years at GLH this year.

She has been nominated in six categories for the Women in Green Business Awards. They are:

  • Corporate Sustainability Lead of the Year. Zoë has been pioneering GLH’s sustainability initiatives from the outset. It was thanks to her we were first in our sector to achieve the ISO 14001 Environmental accreditation. Continuing to prioritise green practices today, her wins include:
    • acquiring a 92% electric/hybrid fleet
    • our courier division boasting London’s largest fleet of Ultra Low Emission Hybrid goods car vehicles
    • campaigning for a greater EV infrastructure
    • our biggest challenge yet – committing to going net zero

  • Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year. Having worked her way up from entry level, Zoë is well placed to support others as they rise through the ranks. She is an active supporter of inclusivity, ensuring fair career progression opportunities. With 78% of our workforce officially classed as diverse, it’s clear her work is paying off.

  • Diversity and Inclusion Strategy of the Year. Zoë’s passion for supporting those underrepresented can be seen in her work with Think Pink, a charity that inspires and supports women to become self-employed drivers. We are proud to:
    • have a female workforce of 44% female
    • be CQC registered
    • provide disability awareness and CQC training
    • train our teams in LGBTQA+ awareness

  • Leader of the Year. Having been a part of the industry for 28 years, Zoe is one of few female leaders. Believing in leading by example, she is glad to have:
    • a happy team – many have been with us for decades
    • an Employee Assistance Programme which provides counselling 24/7
    • helped our clients achieve net zero for many years

  • Small Business of the Year. Through Zoe’s investment, education, campaigning and collaboration we have:
    • become LoCITY champions
    • participated in the Cargo Bike Cruise
    • become an albert approved supplier to the film and television industry
    • won the QSI 10-year trophy and the gold London Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s SME Award for sustainability

  • Transport Professional of the Year. Under Zoë’s leadership, GLH has been the only operator to win a national industry award every year for a decade. She is always:
    • looking ahead to our next challenge
    • looking after our people – our teams, clients and communities
    • paying attention to detail – from booking (we are Cyber Essentials Plus accredited) to destination

Zoë has led the way on all of this – and more. Her absolute care continues to elevate GLH.

The event takes place on 8th October at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, London. We are so excited to be cheering on not just Zoë but all the women making a difference via sustainable initiatives. And we are so pleased that the Women in Green Business Awards recognises this vital work.

Please join us in keep everything crossed for Zoë.
