Following a recent run of awards, including a National Courier award, four Professional Driver magazine awards and a London Chamber of Commerce award, we are delighted to announce that our Director, Zoë Walsh, is a finalist for an Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Award.
What’s more, it’s in the Customer/Passenger category, recognising the absolute care that Zoë has spent 25+ years advocating for in our sector by innovating, raising standards and making a difference to the people that travel with us – whether they need us for airport transfers london, courier services london, chauffeur london jobs or non-emergency patient transport.
Zoë was nominated by a colleague and underwent a panel interview to get to the final stage – which is no mean feat considering how many brilliant women are making a real difference in our sector. The panel were impressed with Zoë’s passion for her industry and anyone who has ever met Zoë will know how much her work at GLH means to her and how enthusiastically this comes across: Zoë began her career in transportation in the Call Centre after leaving school and her dedication to improving things for customers has seen her work her way up to Sales and Customer Relations Director, a post that she has held for 15 years.
The colleague who nominated Zoë said, “All GLH clients and suppliers will know what a joy Zoë is to work with. She’s the perfect balance of dynamic, innovative and professional but completely down-to-earth and approachable. She genuinely cares about everyone she works with and loves what she does. The wins that GLH have had since she has been one of the directors have been incredible – from always being at the forefront of sustainability, to winning awards and huge contracts to even saving the NHS crucial resources with a bespoke booking system. Zoë is always thinking outside the box about how she can make things better for the people and communities she works with.”
One of the key factors in Zoë’s nomination is her voluntary work with Think Pink – the charity supporting women beginning careers as professional drivers. Working with Think Pink, Zoë has organised training, benefits and financial support for women starting their career, as well as coordinating a supportive community of female drivers.
Zoë said, “I see every day the impact that women are making on the transportation sector, so to be chosen as a finalist, in the company of some incredible women from my industry, is a real honour. I’m really looking forward to cheering on all the finalists at the awards event and I hope that women beginning their career will be watching and know that they could be finalists themselves in the future.”
The awards will take place on 27th June at the Park Plaza London Riverbank and we hope you’ll join us in keeping everything crossed for Zoë and all the other women attending.
