As we celebrate our 52nd anniversary and begin a brand-new year, we thought now would be the perfect time to reflect on the past 12 months and some of the ways we stay young by staying ahead in our industry …

We make things official

2018 was the year that we achieved not just one but numerous accreditations. We work hard to maintain continuous ISO 9001:2015; ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation every year, and 2018 was the first year that we transitioned to new standards. This sees our teams working even harder to demonstrate quality management, sustainability and customer care 24/7.

In addition, we were proud to be an early achiever of the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. This means that we officially have the highest levels of recognised security when it comes to our online work with customers – a huge reassurance to our corporate and public sector clients alike.

We celebrate in style …

While we believe in recognising the achievements of our team every day, for 35 years we’ve done this formally by presenting awards to our best team members and treating everyone to a glittering night out at our annual staff awards party. We have earned our enviable reputation by showing absolute care to our customers. In fact, we renamed our drivers as ‘Wish Granters, Swift Navigators and Smile Makers’ and began calling our couriers ‘Shortcut Creators, Time Redeemers and Traffic Conquerors’ to reflect the lengths they go to. But this is equally true of all our teams – from our dispatch operators to our admin employees – and our staff awards parties are a chance to celebrate everyone’s hard work throughout the year.

We’ve got class …

2018 was the year that we announced the addition of the prestigious Hybrid E-Class Mercedes to our fleet of executive vehicles. Not only is the Hybrid E-Class one of the most environmentally-friendly options on the market with emissions of just 49g/km, it’s also one of the most stylish. Features such as a more spacious interior, swept lines, twin tablet displays and a smoother journey makes the E-Class a welcome addition that compliments our existing electric and hybrid fleet. Early uptake has shown it is the preferred choice for many including corporate clients committed to sustainability or simply our more eco-conscious discerning executive customers.

We win gold!

With awards nominations in three national categories, a win at the National Courier Awards and winning Gold at the QSi Professional Driver awards – you could say we ended 2018 in style! Malcolm Jones did us proud at this years National Courier Awards by being the man and legend our regular customers have come to know and love over many years. We were very proud to be short-listed for Private Hire Operator of the Year and for our environmental work at the Professional Driver QSi (Quality, Service and Innovation) awards but absolutely thrilled to get a gold award for our community work, as being a firm that puts people first, this is the category closest to our hearts.

We help others

Speaking of community, this winter we chose to support Shelter from the Storm, holding a Christmas Jumper Day, donating in lieu of Christmas cards and from our client gift pot, raising £1,300 in total to go towards building a permanent purpose-build shelter.
